The mission of Lasallian Women of Hope (LWH) is to ensure females gain full access to a Lasallian education. This grassroots effort began by empowering women and girls to create sustainable solutions to the obstacles which impeded with their educational goals. The LWH program provides small grants for projects benefiting females attending Lasallian institutions. To ensure it is responsive to emerging global needs, the governing council is comprised of representatives from five comprehensive regions around the world.
The inaugural project which began at Mwagnaza College (Kenya) was known as The Pad Project. To ensure uninterrupted attendance, it provided personal hygiene products and health education to young women at the college. Ongoing access to these products enabled these females to attend classes on a regular basis, significantly enhancing their academic achievement.
“The Lasallian Women of Hope is powerful program which has transformed lives of many young women in our college. The program has helped our girls have some basic things which were beyond their reach. We are very grateful to the program and those who contribute toward this life-changing activity.” Brother Oscar Okoth, FSC Principal, Mwangaza College, Kenya.
